Kampala, Uganda – In a striking declaration, rapper GNL Zamba has articulated his strong aversion to Christmas, describing it as a period marked by “unnecessary chaos.” Speaking candidly in a recent interview, Zamba revealed that he does not look forward to the festive season and finds it overwhelming.
“I hate Christmas, and I hate hearing Christmas songs,” he stated emphatically. The rapper expressed his frustration with the hustle and bustle that characterizes the holiday season in Uganda. He criticized the societal focus on festivities, saying, “That whole ‘katijjo’ of the town being busy, everybody going to the village… I hate that sh*t.”

Zamba’s comments resonate with those who feel burdened by the expectations surrounding holiday celebrations. He emphasized his preference for simplicity over extravagance, stating that he would rather have a basic meal on Christmas day than participate in what he perceives as chaotic festivities.
Challenging traditional narratives about Christmas, GNL Zamba also questioned its historical significance. He argued against the common belief that Jesus was born on December 25th, stating, “The whole lie and everything don’t sit well with me.” His remarks highlight a critical perspective on how holidays are celebrated and understood within contemporary society.
