Kampala, Uganda – In a recent interview, former GoodLyfe singer Diamond Oscar has proclaimed himself a legend within Uganda’s music industry, citing his extensive contributions over the years. He expressed pride in his appearance and style, claiming to be “the nicest and freshest looking artist” in the country, with tattoos valued at Shs200 million adorning his body.
Oscar voiced his discontent with being compared to lesser-known artists like Big Eye, stating that such comparisons undermine his achievements. “Never compare me to Big Eye because I am a legend. I worked for it,” he asserted. His confidence stems from what he describes as impactful music that has inspired new generations of artists.

The singer also expressed concern over the current state of Ugandan music, criticizing many artists for releasing songs with inappropriate content. He emphasized that his return to Uganda is motivated by a desire to improve the quality of music being produced. “I’m back in the country because the music had turned out to be too vulgar,” he remarked.
By positioning himself alongside renowned artists like Asake, Wizkid, and Burna Boy, Diamond Oscar aims to reclaim his influence in an industry that he feels has strayed from its roots. His statements have sparked conversations about the standards of artistry in Uganda and the responsibilities of musicians to maintain quality.
