Kampala, Uganda – Following recent violent incidents involving musicians Alien Skin and Pallaso, events promoter Abbey Musinguzi of Abtex Promotions has publicly supported State Minister Balaam Barugahara‘s initiative to boycott artists associated with gang violence. This move is intended to restore peace and discipline within Uganda’s music industry.
The call for action comes after Alien Skin’s group attacked Pallaso during a performance at the Empele Festival, leading to significant chaos and property damage. In response, Balaam announced a six-month ban on promoting any artists involved in violent behavior, urging other promoters to take similar measures.

Abtex Promotions reinforced this message by specifically condemning Alien Skin’s actions and urging fellow promoters not to book him for future events. They stated that such behavior is unacceptable and detrimental to the reputation of the music industry.
As discussions around accountability continue, both Balaam and Abtex are advocating for a more peaceful coexistence among artists, encouraging them to resolve conflicts through their music rather than resorting to violence.
