Rotary International President Stephanie Urchick Visits Uganda to Strengthen Community Impact.

Entebbe, Uganda – Stephanie Urchick, the President of Rotary International, has arrived in Uganda for a week-long visit aimed at showcasing and deepening the organization’s impact in the country. Urchick, who is the second woman to hold this prestigious position, was welcomed at Entebbe International Airport by prominent local Rotarians, including District Governor Anne Nkutu and Rotary International Director nominee Emmanuel Katongole.

In her address to the media, Urchick expressed her enthusiasm for the visit, stating, “I am happy being here. You are the evidence that Rotary works.” She plans to engage with nearly 12,000 Rotarians and Rotaractors in Uganda and visit various projects that highlight Rotary’s commitment to peace and environmental sustainability.

Urchick’s visit is part of her African Magic Tour 2025, which will also take her to Kenya, Senegal, Tunisia, and Egypt before concluding in the United States. The theme for this year’s Rotary International is “The Magic of Rotary,” focusing on the transformative power of partnerships in advancing peace, education, healthcare, and community development.

A key highlight of her trip will be participation in the Peace Symposium at Makerere University on January 10, where she will engage with leaders dedicated to peacebuilding. Additionally, she will attend the Africa Peace Concert at Nsambya Gardens, aiming to raise funds for the Makerere Rotary Peace Centre.

Throughout her stay, Urchick will also lead discussions on Rotary membership growth and participate in various community events aimed at fostering leadership among youth. Her visit underscores Rotary’s ongoing commitment to making a positive impact in Uganda and beyond.
