Kampala, Uganda – The Uganda U-17 Women’s National Team is set to embark on an important journey as they prepare for their FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Qualifier against Namibia. Coach Sheryl Botes Ulanda has named a provisional squad of 39 players who will commence training on January 8, 2025, at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.

The qualifiers will consist of two legs; the first match will take place on January 16, 2025, in Namibia, with the return leg scheduled for January 19 at Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo. The aggregate winner will progress to face Kenya in the next phase of qualification.
The squad showcases a blend of talent across various positions. Key goalkeepers include Rose Kobusinge from Tooro Queens FC and Sharifah Kizito Namutebi from Kampala Queens FC. The defensive line features players like Martha Babirye and Shalom Nambuya, while midfield strength is provided by players such as Doreen Aujat and Halima Mupyangu. Up front, notable forwards include Rinah Ariho and Rinah Nakandi, who will be crucial in securing goals.
As preparations intensify, the coaching staff aims to instill a winning mentality and tactical discipline in the squad ahead of these crucial matches.
