Prominent events promoter Abbey Musinguzi, popularly known as Abitex, has called on the Uganda Police to take immediate action against musicians Gravity Omutujju and Lil Pazo for performing vulgar songs in defiance of established regulatory guidelines.

During a televised interview, Abitex expressed disappointment over the continued performances of the two artists, citing their blatant disregard for directives issued by the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) and the Uganda National Cultural Forum (UNCF). These bodies banned the promotion and performance of vulgar music in December 2023 to preserve cultural values and public morality.
“UCC banned them from performing vulgar music, and the Uganda National Cultural Forum did the same, but they have ignored these directives,” Abitex explained. “We all know Gravity Omutujju and Lil Pazo were banned from performing vulgar content, yet they continue to do so. Gravity even performs mostly at NRM events. We need the authorities to enforce the law. Police should assist UCC in stopping their performances.”
Abitex’s plea follows repeated instances where the artists have performed songs considered explicit, undermining cultural standards that the UCC and UNCF are working to protect. Despite the ban being publicized, the lack of enforcement has led to growing concerns within the entertainment sector.
