Popular Ugandan singer, Alien Skin, has shared personal insights about his decision to embrace Islam. Speaking candidly, the controversial musician revealed that his choice to convert to the Islamic faith was a deeply personal decision driven by his private relationship with Allah, rather than external influence or inspiration from others.
Alien Skin, who recited the Shahada—the declaration of faith that affirms belief in one God (Allah) and acceptance of Muhammad as His prophet—converted to Islam shortly after his release from prison last year. His public announcement of allegiance to the faith sparked curiosity and discussions about his newfound religious beliefs.

“I made a decision to convert to Islam, and I have my own agreement with Allah,” he explained. “I was never inspired by anyone to join the Islamic faith. I did it out of love, and no one preached to me to join Islam.”
While reflecting on his conversion, Alien Skin noted that he has not found aspects of the Islamic religion that particularly resonate with him. He clarified that his path to Islam was a private journey and rejected any suggestion that his choice required validation or understanding from others. “I don’t want to be questioned about my decision. It was personal and spiritual, and I need no explanations from anyone,” he stated firmly.
This revelation has stirred debate within Uganda’s entertainment industry and among religious commentators. Many fans have praised the singer for sharing his truth, while others have criticized the apparent contradictions in his statements. However, Alien Skin’s remarks underscore the diverse and personal nature of religious belief.
