Kigali, Rwanda – Grammy-winning artist Tems has officially canceled her highly anticipated concert scheduled for March 22, 2025, at the BK Arena in Kigali due to concerns over Rwanda’s alleged involvement in the ongoing conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The cancellation comes after Tems expressed regret for promoting the show without being aware of the geopolitical tensions affecting the region.
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Tems stated, “So I recently promoted my show in Rwanda without realizing that there is an ongoing conflict between Rwanda and Congo.” She emphasized her intention not to be insensitive to real-world issues and apologized if her actions were perceived as such. “My heart goes out to those affected. Conflict is no joke and I truly hope and pray for peace in this time,” she added.
