Kenzo urged fellow artists to focus on their craft rather than seeking shortcuts through connections. He reiterated that international bookings are based on an artist’s market value and not merely on personal relationships. “Promoters assess an artiste’s market value before deciding to book them,” he explained. Instead of seeking personal favors, Kenzo encouraged his peers to engage him on policies and ideas that could improve the music industry in Uganda.

The BET Award winner’s comments highlight the ongoing challenges within the Ugandan music scene, where many artists feel pressure to navigate the complexities of international exposure and opportunities.
