Sama Sojah: “I Am Not Under Pressure to Release Music”

Kampala, Uganda – Ugandan singer and songwriter Sama Sojah, known for his hit songs like “Nnyonyi Nyange,” has confidently stated that he is not under pressure to release new music. In a recent interview, he explained that his focus is on creating classic, timeless music rather than rushing into the studio. “I am always around, but I’m not under pressure to release music. I make music, but I also do other things; I farm and raise animals,” he said.

Sama Sojah emphasized that his approach allows him to maintain quality and purpose in his work. He combines his music career with ventures in farming and livestock rearing, describing himself as a hustler who seeks various financial opportunities. Despite not being frequently visible in the media, he reassured fans of his ongoing commitment to music.

In addition to discussing his musical philosophy, Sama Sojah shared insights on the importance of copyright education for artists. He believes that many musicians lack understanding of how copyright works, which could impact their earnings. “We need to be ready for copyright… artists should be taught how it operates,” he noted, highlighting the necessity for greater awareness in the industry.
