Musician Kasibante Rashid, popularly known as Shidy Stylo, has announced his candidacy for the Mawokota North Constituency in the 2026 elections, aiming to unseat the incumbent Member of Parliament, Hilderman. Stylo, who is known for his musical career, explained that his decision to run was driven by his dissatisfaction with Hilderman’s performance in office.

In a recent interview, Shidy Stylo criticized Hilderman for being more focused on verbal activism than on tangible developments for the people of Mawokota North. “Hilderman has been politicking all along and has done nothing for our people,” Stylo remarked, adding that the constituents deserve better leadership. Stylo expressed his commitment to working alongside both the government and the opposition to improve the lives of his people.
Stylo will face stiff competition from Hilderman, who is running as a candidate for the National Unity Platform (NUP), and other political figures, including the NRM’s Amelia Kyambadde. With the 2026 elections drawing near, Stylo’s political aspirations have already begun to take shape.
