Renowned Ugandan musician Jose Chameleone has come out to dismiss rumors that he was arrested in the United States following an alleged altercation with his caretaker, Juliet Zawedde.
The Leone Island boss, currently receiving medical treatment in the U.S., expressed frustration after coming across a viral YouTube video by Jane Namukasa, which falsely alleged that he had been involved in a physical fight with Zawedde and was subsequently jailed.
Namukasa further claimed that reports of Chameleone’s illness were fabricated and that he was actually in prison, not a hospital.
In response, Chameleone shared a video on social media on February 18, speaking from his hospital bed, where he confirmed that he was undergoing treatment and preparing for surgery. He explained that his pancreas had started producing toxic enzymes, which needed to be extracted before the procedure.
"I do not know why Ugandans are bad-hearted. I’m here waiting for my surgery; I have not quarreled with anyone or had a disagreement with anyone, but someone is spreading false news," he stated.
He urged the public to stop spreading misinformation, warning that such reckless content creation could lead to serious consequences.
"Things of putting each other down in the name of content… such things might cause you problems," he added.
To further prove his claims, Chameleone gave his fans a short tour of his hospital room, reassuring them of his health condition and thanking them for their prayers and well-wishes.
