Kampala, February 2025 – Hon. Mukasa Mbidde, a prominent Ugandan legislator and lawyer, has filed a lawsuit against Mutoni Beylse, a 24-year-old woman, following an alleged altercation at a Kampala hotel.

Details of the Incident
The incident unfolded when Mutoni Beylse reportedly stormed into a hotel where Hon. Mbidde was dining with his wife, Phiona Nayebale. According to police reports, Mutoni approached the couple and allegedly demanded $3,000 from Mbidde.

According to Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Hon. Mbidde immediately called security to prevent further disturbance. He was forced to cut short his dinner with his wife due to Mutoni’s interruption, which disrupted their private evening.
Alleged Payment Dispute
Mutoni claims that she had been in communication with Hon. Mbidde for about three weeks, during which he allegedly promised to help her find a job. Additionally, she insists that Mbidde had not paid her an agreed sum, leading to the confrontation.
In response, Hon. Mbidde opened a lawsuit under SDREF: 70/14/02/2025 at the Jinja Road Police Station.
Police Investigation
Mutoni Beylse has been summoned to report to the police on February 24, 2025 to provide her side of the story. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are gathering further evidence to assess the legality of the claims made by both parties.
