Kampala, Uganda – Media personality Kasuku has sent a stern warning to bloggers and TikTokers, urging them to be mindful of the words they use when posting online. Kasuku’s remarks came in light of Janie Namukasa’s ongoing legal challenges with singer Jose Chameleone. The gossip guru advised media personalities, especially those in digital platforms, to take responsibility for the content they share, acknowledging that they can be held accountable for their words.

This caution follows a controversial incident on February 18, 2025, when Janie Namukasa claimed that Chameleone had been arrested in the United States for allegedly assaulting his friend and caregiver, Juliet Zawedde. This statement contradicted earlier reports that Chameleone had been hospitalized for a pancreatic surgery. Speaking from his hospital bed, Chameleone denied the claims, warning that the spread of false information would not be tolerated. Despite the singer’s warning, Janie stuck to her version of events.

Kasuku emphasized that the real problem often lies with unreliable sources, not necessarily the media personalities themselves. He suggested that bloggers and TikTokers should always seek video evidence from their sources to avoid potential legal disputes.
As the situation unfolded, Chameleone’s legal team sent a cease-and-desist letter to Janie on February 20, demanding an apology and a compensation fee of 100 million Ugandan shillings. Though Janie eventually recorded a video retracting her statements and apologizing to Chameleone, the singer has not yet forgiven her, according to Kasuku, who revealed in an interview that Chameleone is still pursuing the matter, citing statements from entertainment analyst Frank Ntambi.
This case serves as a reminder to online content creators of the potential consequences of spreading misinformation and the importance of verifying sources before making public statements.
