FULL STORY: Alex Muhangi Breaks Down Over Bebe Cool’s Comedy Store No-Show.

The Ugandan entertainment industry was recently shaken when Comedy Store UG founder Alex Muhangi broke down in a TikTok Live session while discussing why his longtime friend, singer Bebe Cool, snubbed his show.

Singer Bebe Cool

The incident took place last week when Bebe Cool, who had been booked to perform at Comedy Store UG, arrived early at the venue with his wife. However, to the shock of fans and event organizers, the Gagamel boss left before stepping on stage. Reports later indicated that the singer refused to perform because his payment balance had not been settled on time.

Muhangi, however, clarified that he had temporarily left the venue to collect the remaining payment, only to return and find that Bebe Cool had already driven off. The unexpected departure left fans and fellow entertainers disappointed, with many questioning whether there were deeper issues between the two longtime friends.

Speaking emotionally during a TikTok Live conversation with Crysto Panda and Bruno K, Alex Muhangi expressed his hurt and disbelief over the situation. He noted that he and Bebe Cool have maintained a close personal and professional relationship for years, making the singer’s actions all the more painful.

"Comedy Store has given Bebe Cool more than Shs100 million. He was booked, and I paid him. I am the client in this situation, but somehow, I ended up being the one left stranded. This is my business, and it’s painful that a friend I trust would act this way," Muhangi lamented.

Muhangi also speculated that Bebe Cool’s actions were an attempt to stir controversy ahead of his new music release, Motivation. “How are you promoting ‘Motivation’ yet you walk away from a show where 800 people have come to listen to you perform? And the show is hosted by your friend?” he questioned.

Despite the fallout, Muhangi insisted that he holds no grudge but was deeply disappointed in how events unfolded. Fans, meanwhile, remain divided, with some supporting Bebe Cool’s stance while others side with Muhangi, urging Ugandan entertainers to prioritize professionalism over personal interests.
