Kampala, Uganda – Celebrated Swangz Avenue singer Winnie Nwagi has issued a strong warning to Ugandans, urging them to be more cautious when dealing with boda boda riders, especially when allowing them into their homes.
Through a series of Snapchat posts, Nwagi highlighted the growing trend of people overtrusting boda boda delivery riders, which she says poses a serious security threat. According to her, some of these riders use their access to people’s homes to study their environment and later return to rob them.
“Be careful with your boda guys. Also, being so free with them is becoming dangerous. They are the thieves that come rob us. Don’t say I didn’t tell you,” Nwagi warned.

She further emphasized the importance of maintaining boundaries and restricting access to one’s private space. The singer advised that deliveries should only be received at the gate, rather than allowing riders inside.
“Please let your boda guy deliver at the gate. This laziness of letting them come to your door and see everything in your house is costing you. That’s when they get to observe. Y’all will never believe this until it happens to you.”
Her caution comes amid increasing reports of home break-ins and robberies linked to insiders who gained information about households through unsuspecting means. Security experts have similarly advised the public to limit access to their homes and exercise caution with delivery personnel.
As convenience services like online shopping and home deliveries continue to rise in Uganda, Nwagi’s warning serves as a timely reminder for people to prioritize their safety.
