Ugandan media personality and activist MC Kats has publicly warned National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Bobi Wine about the persistent attacks from his supporters. The online abuse has become a focal point of concern for MC Kats, especially as it relates to his HIV status and his family. Kats expressed frustration over the relentless cyberbullying and called for an immediate halt to the attacks.
In a candid statement, MC Kats spoke out against NUP supporters, particularly those known as “foot soldiers.” According to Kats, the supporters have made his HIV status a central point of attack in their online rhetoric. He revealed that these attacks have targeted his health, family, and personal life. Kats, who has been an advocate for HIV awareness, stated that this abuse was not only defamatory but also dangerous, as it played on the stigma surrounding HIV.

He said, "They use my health as a weapon, attacking me with it as if it is a shameful thing. I am open about my status, and I stand with others living with HIV. But using this to hurt me or my family crosses a line."
In a direct message to Bobi Wine, MC Kats warned that if these attacks continued, he would be forced to reveal a deeply personal secret, one that he had kept hidden for years. While Kats did not elaborate on the nature of the secret, he made it clear that it could have serious consequences for both him and the political scene.
He said, "With all due respect Mr. Bobi Wine, you know there’s a very big secret between us, and I have never said it. If this continues, I have no choice but to expose it."
Kats’ warning comes in the context of ongoing political tensions and the fierce rhetoric in Uganda’s political landscape, especially as the country prepares for upcoming elections. NUP supporters have long been known for their passionate support of their leader, Bobi Wine, and their sometimes aggressive tactics. However, Kats’ challenge to Bobi Wine adds a new dimension to this conflict, one that could escalate beyond the online sphere.
As Uganda gears up for more political discourse, the issue of online abuse and political attacks on public figures like MC Kats continues to raise questions about the limits of political discourse and the respect for personal privacy. The coming weeks will be crucial in determining whether these online tensions will result in further public confrontation or whether they will be resolved through dialogue.
