Renowned events promoter Abbey Musiguzi, popularly known as Abitex, has weighed in on the ongoing friction between media personality Mc Kats and supporters of the National Unity Platform (NUP) led by Robert Kyagulanyi, alias Bobi Wine.
Speaking during a televised interview, Abitex urged Mc Kats to channel his energy into the fight against HIV/AIDS rather than engaging in political conflicts. According to Abitex, Mc Kats, who has openly shared his HIV-positive status, has a crucial role to play in raising awareness and advocating for support towards people living with the virus.
“I think Mc Kats should focus on his programs to fight the spread of HIV/AIDS instead of attacking Bobi Wine. He should seek sponsors and implement these programs nationwide. He could be of great benefit if he invests his energy in this endeavor,” Abitex stated.
Abitex’s remarks come shortly after Mc Kats threatened to expose what he termed as Bobi Wine’s “dark secrets” unless the opposition leader restrained his supporters. The statement has since sparked debates across social media, with some backing Mc Kats while others question his motives.
Despite the controversy, Abitex believes that Mc Kats’ influence would be better used in lobbying for HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns rather than engaging in political showdowns.
