Young Ugandan rapper Patrick Ssenyonjo, popularly known as Fresh Kid, is set to embark on a life-changing academic journey to South Africa next Monday.
The trip comes after Hon. Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi, the Senior Presidential Advisor on Gender and Youth Affairs, fulfilled her longstanding promise to sponsor the young star’s advanced education at an international institution.
Fresh Kid, who recently sat for the 2024 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) and scored 11 aggregates, will be joining Cambridge International School in South Africa for his secondary education.

Previously, the rapper was studying at Kampala Parents School on a scholarship sponsored by the Ruparelia Group, which enabled him to access quality education while balancing his rising music career.
Fresh Kid’s transition to an international school in South Africa marks a major milestone in his life. The institution offers a globally recognized curriculum, which will expose him to world-class education standards while still allowing him to grow his music career.
His management has reassured fans that his music career will not be affected, and arrangements will be made to ensure he continues working on his craft while focusing on his studies.
With this golden opportunity, Fresh Kid is expected to inspire many young Ugandans who balance education with talent, proving that both can coexist successfully.
