Uganda Police have dismantled a major human trafficking ring connected to AIM Global Alliance, a networking company accused of luring unsuspecting individuals with fraudulent job offers. The operation, conducted on April 2, 2025, resulted in the rescue of 51 victims who were being held in multiple locations in Nagalama Division.
Victims shared harrowing details of how they were misled into believing they had secured well-paying jobs. Instead, they were required to pay 150,000 UGX for “training” before their phones were seized to cut off communication. Recruiters then coerced them into enlisting their friends and family members, from whom they demanded 1.5 million UGX for purchasing company products, falsely assuring them of future earnings.
Police reports indicate that the victims were found in deplorable living conditions, crammed into small, unhygienic rooms across different locations in Kalagi, including:
- Kakola Village, Kyabakadde Parish, Kyampisi Sub-County – 14 victims (3 males, 11 females).
- Kalagi Village, Naggalama A Ward – 20 victims (10 males, 10 females).
- Bbosa Village, Kyabakadde Parish – 14 victims (6 males, 8 females).
Following the arrests of Kasule Zephaniah and Nantima Evelyn, police have launched further investigations to track down other operatives involved in the scam. The public is advised to be cautious and verify job offers to avoid falling victim to similar fraudulent schemes.
