Azawi Accepts Eddy Kenzo’s Public Debate Challenge, Requests It Be Held in Kampala Ghettos.

Swangz Avenue singer Priscilla Zawedde, popularly known as Azawi, has accepted a public debate challenge issued by fellow Ugandan musician Eddy Kenzo. The debate aims to address pressing issues affecting the music industry and the nation at large.

Speaking during an interview on Galaxy FM, Azawi welcomed the idea but made a unique request: she wants the debate to be held in one of the ghettos around Kampala, the very places where both she and Kenzo began their musical journeys.

“I saw somewhere Eddy ask me for a public debate. Yeah, I accept the debate. I request the organizers to host us in the ghettos where our journey started,” Azawi said.

She emphasized the importance of having the debate in front of the people who shaped their careers. Azawi also revealed that she has many questions for Kenzo and is open to being corrected if she is found to be misleading the youth.

“I want people present because he and I, that’s our genesis—the people and the ghettos. I have my questions, and he has his. I want him to tell me where he feels I’m misinforming the youths,” she added.

The proposed debate promises to be a significant event, highlighting the perspectives of two of Uganda’s most influential musicians on issues impacting their industry and society.
