Makerere Guild President Churchill Ssentamu Eyes 2026 Parliamentary Seat.

Churchill James Ssentamu, the current Guild President of Makerere University and nephew to popular musician and politician Bobi Wine, has revealed his ambition to run for a parliamentary seat in the 2026 general elections. In a candid interview with Mr. Henrie on the show Deep Talk, Churchill expressed his readiness to take on the political challenge, stating that he is waiting for divine guidance before making his move official.

Though he has not disclosed which constituency he intends to contest, Churchill clarified that he will not run for Kawempe South, as his father, Chairman Nyanzi, is aspiring to represent that area. “I have a decision to make, but I do not think Parliament is too big a place for me. If God wills, we shall take it forward,” he said.

Born into a politically active family, Churchill has garnered significant media attention recently, especially after a photo surfaced showing him posing with the Fountain of Honor, sparking speculation about his political alliances and alleged attempts to seek funding from the ruling party.
