Rising Ugandan musician Sama Sojah has openly criticized many of his contemporaries for focusing on TikTok trends rather than producing timeless music. In a recent interview with a local television station, Sama Sojah described himself as a purist who creates classic, genuine songs that will stand the test of time.
“I do classic music, which is pure and timeless. My songs can last for many years to come. I am not seen everywhere because I don’t create TikTok sounds; I am not like many Ugandan artistes who are focused on TikTok trends and sounds. I do genuine stuff,” he stated.
Despite his talent, Sama Sojah acknowledges that he lacks proper management, branding, and promotion, which has limited his exposure across Uganda. He plans to work on these areas to reach a wider audience while maintaining his artistic integrity.
