Events promoter Nobert Twizire, popularly known as Nobat Events, was rearrested moments after securing police bond on separate charges, and arraigned before Makindye Court over a failure to repay a loan amounting to UGX 5 million. The loan dispute stems from a 2024 agreement with complainant Luswata William, who lent Nobat the money to facilitate the Miss Bukedde event.
Luswata alleges that Nobat used a Toyota Mark X vehicle as security for the loan, but the car was impounded because it did not belong to Nobat but to Mr. Kawere, the legitimate owner. Luswata claims Nobat has been avoiding him since, but was finally captured by police at Central Police Station after his initial release.
Deputy Police Spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan, Luke Owoyesigyire, confirmed that Nobat had earlier been detained in connection to investigations into the assault of singer Full Figure. Nobat faces additional legal battles involving the loan arrears, and court proceedings will determine how he settles his debt.
