The National Peasants’ Party (NPP) has officially summoned Hajat Stecia Mayanja Faridah, its party president and singer-turned-politician, to appear before the National Executive Committee (NEC) on September 25, 2025, demanding an explanation for her alleged participation in rallies organized by the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).

The summons, issued by NPP Secretary General Sentongo Sharif Nambale, cites such participation as inconsistent with the party’s constitution, which forbids involvement in opposing political parties’ rallies. The notice emphasizes transparency and accountability, warning Mayanja that failure to appear without valid reason could lead to disciplinary action. The summons deepens the internal crisis within NPP, as Mayanja’s attendance at NRM events raises questions about her loyalty and political alignment.
