MC Kats Rages at Government Officials Over Shs1.5 Billion Payout Snub

Veteran emcee MC Kats publicly slammed “yellow brigade officials” after being denied entry into a crucial government meeting about a Shs1.5 billion allocation intended for MCs. Kats revealed that he arrived hours early and waited two hours but was refused access for allegedly having “no appointment.” “I left home at 5 am… Now 1.5 billion is taken by your people, not us who work for it,” Kats lamented.

With over two decades in the entertainment industry, Kats accused the government of sidelining hardworking entertainers and favoring politically connected individuals. He bitterly contrasted himself with newer entrants who secured positions through “technical know-who.” Kats claimed the payout was meant for political talk show hosts and invoked opposition leader Bobi Wine by saying, “That’s where Bobi Wine wins. He may not give money, but he gives hope.”

Kats appealed directly to Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba to ensure MCs in Central Uganda and Mbarara benefit fairly from the funds. His frustration sparked mixed reactions, with supporters sympathizing and critics accusing him of seeking relevance.
