Lt. Gen. Proscovia Nalweyiso, a senior military officer in the Uganda People’s Defence Forces, publicly expressed her admiration for Bobi Wine’s musical talent in an interview with Radio 4’s Adam Kungu. She acknowledged Bobi Wine as her favorite artist and questioned the validity of the reported ban on his performances at political and public events.
She stated that artists, regardless of political affiliations, are invited to entertain crowds at major NRM events, and Bobi Wine should be included as well. Nalweyiso mentioned her intention to investigate the reasons behind any restrictions on Bobi Wine’s concerts, emphasizing that he is a gifted singer who deserves the chance to perform freely and without fear.
