According to Dr. Onyachi, the hospital recieves more than 2000 patients a day but some go back without treatment because of the inadequate human resource. The director says that most of the doctors they lack are consultants who would help the juniors in the fields of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Pathology and Neurology.
Dr .Onyachi also adds that out of the 41 midwives needed by a hospital as set by the medical standards, they only have 31 which makes the hospital to operate at excess capacity.
This comes at a time when the President of Uganda Medical Association Dr. #Ekwaro_Obuku a few days said that the association is finalising a deal with a certain company to find jobs for medical workers outside the country because Uganda can not absorb all the available medical workers.
