Musician Bobi Wine has criticized the Uganda Musicians’ Association for not following the major aims of its formation. He said the Association has turned into a money-making venture.

The NUP leader who happens to be one of the founding members blamed its leadership for turning away from its true purpose.

“I call upon UMA to go back to its basics and review why it was formed. It is now used as a tool for those in power, not musicians,” he partly said during an interview with a local television at his home in Magere.

He advised the UMA leadership to go back and review the objectives for the good of its members and all the people in the Ugandan music industry.
