RUSSIAN PARLIAMENT APPROVE BILL BANNING ‘LGBTQ propaganda’

LGBTQ banned in russia

Russia’s lower house of parliament has approved unanimously a bill that bans ‘LGBT propaganda’, free expression, making any action or information that is deemed to promote homosexuality whether in public, online or in films, books or advertising subject to a heavy fine.

The speaker of the lower house said on social media that any propaganda of non-traditional relationships will have consequences.

“The bill will protect our children and the future of our country from darkness spread by the US and European states” he added.

Though the legislation still needs approval of the upper house of parliament and president Vladimir Putin, these steps are seen as a formality and may not be a blockage to the bill passed.
