Adjumani District Receives Shs150 Million Support to Strengthen Adolescent Health Services

Adolescent health services in Adjumani District have received a significant boost with the handover of materials worth Shs150 million to 18 designated health facilities. This intervention is part of the Sexual and Reproductive Health for Adolescents and Youth (SAY) project, implemented by Naguru Teenage Centre with funding from the Danish Embassy and support from UNFPA.

The donation includes educational tools such as TV sets, Wheels of Knowledge, board games, flip charts, counseling guides, and reproductive health reference materials. Henry Lulu Leku, Assistant District Health Officer, highlighted the pressing adolescent health challenges in the district, noting a teenage pregnancy rate of 15.7% and family planning uptake of 48.8%.

The project aims to improve youth-friendly health service delivery and empower young people across Adjumani, Moyo, Obongi, Kitgum, and Lamwo districts with better sexual and reproductive health knowledge.
