Cindy Sanyu Reflects on Leaving Blu 3, Calls It the Best Decision of Her Career.

In 2008, Cinderella Sanyu, popularly known as Cindy, made the bold decision to leave the all-girl music group Blu 3, which had gained significant popularity across Uganda and Africa. At the time, many speculated that her exit would mark the downfall of her music career, but Cindy has since risen to establish herself as one of Uganda’s top musicians, earning the title “The King Herself.”

Speaking in a recent interview with a local YouTuber, Cindy explained why she has no regrets about quitting the group. “Everything that has happened has led us to where we are now, and somehow, it’s all worth it. If I had not left Blu 3, this part of me would never have come out, and I don’t regret anything. Blu 3 had its own style, and I had to find my own. Growing into who I am today and honing my craft would not have been possible,” she stated.

Since going solo, Cindy has achieved remarkable success in the music industry, producing numerous hit songs and even winning the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) presidency. Despite parting ways with Blu 3, she remains grateful to producer Steve Jean for discovering her and introducing her to the music industry.
