Chelsea defender and Senegalese captain, kalidou koulibaly, scored the winner against theTricolors in a 2:1 dramatic win to send the Lions of Teranga onto the next round.
Ismail sarr gave the visitors the lead through the penalty spot in the 44’ min but Ecuador through Caicedo equalized in the 67’ min. 3mins later koulibaly scored the second goal to give the Senegalese the upper hand.
Senegal secured a spot on the round of 16 as the second with 6pts and Netherlands defeated the hosts Qatar 2:0 to top Group A with 7pts.
They have become the first African team to qualify for the next round
