The National Unity Platform (NUP) has slated two major rallies in Kampala on September 23, 2025, immediately following the anticipated nomination of its presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine. The rallies will be held at Wankulukuku Stadium and Nakivubo settlement grounds, aiming to consolidate support across central and eastern Kampala.

Party insiders describe the move as a strategic demonstration of strength and readiness to mobilize Ugandans for change ahead of the 2026 general elections. NUP spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi stressed that the rallies will kick-start a “people-driven campaign to reclaim Uganda’s future” with Kampala as the focal point for political activity. Despite calls for peaceful conduct, fears persist about potential clashes with security forces given Uganda’s recent history of opposition event confrontations.
