The Electoral Commission (EC) of Uganda convened a critical session chaired by Secretary Richard Kamugisha Baabo to engage representatives from all eight cleared presidential candidates. The meeting focused on planning campaign schedules, allocating venues, and timing campaign events to prevent overlap and conflicts during the highly anticipated 2026 election period.
Key attendees included Robert Centenary representing the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), Rovans Lwanyaga for the National Unity Platform (NUP), and Moses Byaruhanga for the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) and President Museveni. Police officials also participated to advise on security arrangements ensuring peaceful and orderly campaigns. The session underscored the importance of coordination to maintain a stable election environment.
