Mushabe Crek Haidare, popularly known as Uncle Chumi, is embroiled in controversy after her manager, Lax, publicly detailed a series of threats against his life allegedly orchestrated by Chumi and one of her associates claiming to be a daughter of General Salim Saleh. During an interview with Spark TV journalists, Lax revealed that he was repeatedly threatened and even had guns pointed at him by the duo, prompting him to file a police case at Katwe Police Station for his safety and accountability.

Lax described an escalated hostile relationship, citing that Chumi’s behavior deteriorated to the point where he could no longer work with her. He painted a grim picture of her personal circumstances, stating she is currently homeless after being expelled from her father’s home due to her bad character. Despite investing significant effort into managing her career, including securing a songwriter for her breakthrough hit “Gwokutte Gwoba” and coordinating production, Lax claimed to have received no financial returns and instead faced abuse and property confiscation.
