Following two weeks silent on his twitter account, General Kainerugaba Muhoozi son of Yoweri Kaguta Museveni came back with controversial tweets about his father’s political party National Resistance Movement(NRM).
“Iam listening to the outcry of our people for change. I am with the people! Whatever NRM has become certainly does NOT represent the people of Uganda.” Muhoozi tweeted
“We shall jointly (all of us together) create the 6th Republic. The 1st was Obote I, the 2nd was Amin, the 3rd was Obote II, the 4th was Okello and the 5th was NRM. We will be the 6th Republic! The greatest epoch in our history!,” he added.
Aday before he had claimed that he believes in Jesus Christ and his father, General Kaguata Museveni but certainly does not believe in NRM which he considers as the the most reactionary organisation in marxist terms.
On 3 October 2022, Muhoozi also caused a diplomatic incident with Kenya on the same social media platform where he threatened to invade the country and conquer Nairobi forcing his father to apologise for the comments. On 4 October 2022, following the controversy with Kenya, Muhoozi was removed from the UPDF lead replaced with Lt Gen Kayanja Muhanga.
