Laika Music, a singer under Ray Pan Promotions, has responded to circulating rumors suggesting that she is in secret competition with fellow labelmates Kataleya & Kandle (K&K). The speculation arose due to Kataleya & Kandle’s rising success, with hits like “Nkuwulira” featuring Dokta Brain dominating music charts and securing massive bookings.

However, in an exclusive interview, Laika denied any rivalry, clarifying that she harbors no jealousy toward the duo and supports their growth in the music industry.
During the interview, Laika firmly stated that she does not see K&K as competitors and instead appreciates their journey and success.
“I feel good because they are my friends, and I’m very supportive of them. I’m not jealous because everyone has their own journey and blessings. They have their own life; I cannot feel that way even if it were other artists,” Laika said.
She emphasized that her focus is on building her brand and music career, not comparing herself to others.
Laika was originally signed to Ray Pan Promotions and released multiple songs before parting ways with the label. However, in November 2024, she reunited with the management to revive her career and brand.
She hinted at upcoming music projects under the label, expressing excitement about working with Kataleya & Kandle rather than competing with them.
The Ugandan music industry is highly competitive, and comparisons among artists under the same management are common. However, Laika’s remarks suggest that her focus is on personal growth and success, rather than industry rivalry.
This statement quashes the speculation and reinforces the camaraderie within Ray Pan Promotions.
