Ahead of and during his September 24 nomination, Kyagulanyi faced intense security measures by police and military, including roadblocks and crowd control to manage large gatherings of his supporters. Despite the tension, he proceeded to submit nomination papers, accompanied by his wife and party officials, officially becoming a presidential candidate.

The event turned into a rally in Nateete witnessing high energy but was also marked by the arrest of some NUP supporters near the nomination venue. In his address, Bobi Wine vowed to fight for a free Uganda where leaders serve citizens, security forces protect people, and opportunities are fairly distributed. His campaign is expected to be among the most fiercely contested in Ugandan history.
