In a public acknowledgment, Hon. Lutaaya confirmed that Mellan is indeed his daughter and suggested that malicious actors were exploiting the situation to create discord for ulterior motives. He expressed his commitment to taking custody of Mellan to minimize further public controversies. Mellan later shared a TikTok update revealing her school had contacted her mother to ensure her return after the fees were paid, expressing heartfelt gratitude to her father and the media who amplified her plight.
