President Yoweri Museveni, together with His Highness the Aga Khan, is set to officially open the new Aga Khan University (AKU) campus in Nakawa, Kampala, on September 11, 2025. The launch marks a significant milestone for higher education and healthcare in Uganda and East Africa.
The event will also feature the groundbreaking ceremony for the Aga Khan University Hospital, Kampala, a state-of-the-art 101-bed specialist facility expected to be operational by 2027. AKU President Dr. Sulaiman Shahabuddin described the initiative as a strong example of the public-private partnerships envisioned by the late Aga Khan IV and President Museveni, aimed at fostering collaboration in education, research, and healthcare.
